Window Tinting FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about XPEL window tinting in Etobicoke — from Ontario law to warranty.
- How long does window tinting take?
- Most installs are completed the same day. Front two windows take around an hour; a full vehicle typically takes 3–4.5 hours depending on your vehicle size and any add-ons. Your booking confirmation shows an estimated duration.
- What is the difference between XPEL CS, HP, and XR?
- CS is our carbon/dyed tier with a rich matte finish and solid performance. HP is high-performance with enhanced heat rejection. XR is premium nano-ceramic with maximum infrared heat rejection and crystal clarity. All three carry a lifetime warranty.
- Is your work guaranteed?
- Yes. Every XPEL tier we install is backed by a lifetime warranty against fade, peel, and bubble. You also receive a warranty certificate you can access anytime from your customer dashboard.
- What tint is legal in Ontario?
- In Ontario, front side windows must allow more than 70% of light through, and no tint is permitted on the windshield below the AS-1 line. Rear side and rear windows have no restriction. We only install compliant configurations and will advise you on a great-looking, road-legal setup.
- How much does window tinting cost?
- Pricing depends on your vehicle class, the XPEL tier, and coverage. Front two windows start at $120; full-vehicle packages range based on tier and vehicle size. See our pricing page or use the online booking tool for an instant starting quote.
- Where is my vehicle tinted?
- Every vehicle is tinted in our fixed-location Etobicoke studio — a dust-free, climate-controlled installation bay. Installing indoors in a fully controlled environment is what produces a cleaner, longer-lasting finish. Simply book a time and drop your vehicle off with us.
- Will tint interfere with my phone, GPS, or sensors?
- No. We use non-metallic XPEL film, so your phone signal, GPS, keyless entry, and vehicle sensors all work normally — including on Teslas and other EVs.
- How soon can I roll my windows down after tinting?
- We recommend waiting at least 3–4 days before rolling your windows down so the film can fully cure. You may notice slight haziness or small water pockets at first — this is normal and clears as the tint dries.
- Do you tint Teslas and EVs?
- Absolutely. Teslas have large glass areas and panoramic roofs that benefit greatly from ceramic tint. We tint all Model 3, Y, S, and X vehicles, including glass roofs, with range-friendly heat rejection.
- How do I book an appointment?
- Book entirely online in a couple of minutes: choose your vehicle, XPEL tier, coverage, and a time slot. We are open Monday to Friday; weekends are by appointment — just contact us.
